You might spend your life trying to restore some balance.
I do. If a moment, a situation, a relationship is not in balance my stomach starts screaming with pain.
It’s gotten louder as I get older (because I have ignored it too many times).
It’s like somewhere deep inside you know that interdependance is the key to peace.
Where we all interlink in an air of co-operation- a bit like a coral reef.
Stepping back so others can step forward.
Holding your tongue so others can speak.
Opening your ears, your mind, your eyes.
You spend your life digesting your experiences- the good and bad.
You work really hard to heal your scars whether they be big or small,
shallow or deep.
Then you get stumped.
You don’t know what to do.
Because there will always be people who push you back so they can step forward.
Who shut you up with harsh (yet subtle) put downs.
Who only want you to listen.
People who never learned to share.
Then there are the people who don’t want to meet half way.
They don’t bother putting in any effort.
Then they complain about you because you haven’t licked their arse enough.
It’s their way or the highway.
I have found the balance for this situation.
I have found the highway.
And guess what?
There are loads of lovely people walking this same path.
